Wisconsin pulls Upset

After an impressive pull away victory by Michigan State in the first game of the second round, Wisconsin was trying to keep their season alive in the second game against an improving Ohio State team. Both teams started slowly with no score after first two minutes of play. Both teams battled to settle in with Ohio Stat capturing a thirteen points lead in the 2nd quarter. Wisconsin battled back behind some good team defense to close the first half cutting into Ohio State’s lead 32-22.

The second half belonged to Wisconsin as they outscored Ohio State 51 to 31 points.

Two Badgers Kelly Karlis, 6’2 Senior from Medinah, Illinois scored 24 points and Marsha Howard, 5’10 Senior Chicago, Illinois tallied 23 for the winners.

Graduate student Carmen Grande led the Buckeyes with 12 points. Fellow graduate Carly Santoro, Bellevue, Ohio scored 11 while Freshman Dorka Juhasz, Jana Crooms, Cranston, Rhode Island and Somerset, New Jersey graduate Andreana Miller scored ten apiece.

Wisconsin moves on to play Michigan Friday, March 8th at approximately 2:30 p.m.
