The National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Hall of Fame highlighted today that 25 Campbell Trophy® semifinalists will participate in the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine presented by Microsoft Copilot. The event is taking place from Feb. 27 to March 2 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, providing the top 2025 NFL Draft prospects with an opportunity to showcase their skills in front of scouts from all 32 NFL teams.
“It’s always great to see Campbell Trophy guys earn an opportunity to play at the next level,” said NFF Chairman Archie Manning. “These young men have excelled both on and off the field, and now they get to take the next step in fulfilling their dreams of playing in the NFL. Their success is a testament to their hard work, character, and commitment, and we couldn’t be happier for them.”
The invitees include nine 2024 Campbell Trophy® finalists, among them Alabama QB and Campbell Trophy winner Jalen Milroe. The Campbell Trophy has been awarded since 1990, honoring the top football player in the nation for his combined academic, athletic, and leadership accomplishments.
Quarterbacks claimed the highest number of invitations this year, with six earning the call. The group boasts an average GPA of 3.6, with nine of the invitees maintaining a 3.7 or better, including Ohio State’s Seth McLaughlin, who maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA as a finance major.
Eighteen of the 25 semifinalists served as team captains. Four of the invitees were nominated in 2023, including New Hampshire QB Max Brosmer, who used a final year of eligibility to play at Minnesota, and Princeton OL Jalen Travis, who capitalized on a final year of eligibility to play at Iowa State.
Last year, 18 Campbell Trophy® semifinalists received invitations, and 36 NFF National Scholar-Athletes made an NFL roster. Five recipients of the Campbell Trophy® appeared on NFL rosters during the 2024 season: the Detroit Lions’ Jack Campbell (Iowa-2022), Los Angeles Chargers’ Justin Herbert (Oregon-2019), Baltimore Ravens’ Charlie Kolar (Iowa State-2021), Denver Broncos’ Bo Nix (Oregon-2023), and Las Vegas Raiders’ Christian Wilkins (Clemson-2018).
