Indiana Football Releases Non-Conference Slate as Big Ten Announces Dates for 2024 Campaign

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Big Ten Conference announced the dates for the 2024 conference schedule on Thursday (Nov. 2) and the Indiana football program also released its 2024 non-conference opponents and dates.

The Hoosiers will play eight home contests during the 2024 season, with three non-conference matchups and five Big Ten home games. The Hoosiers will not have back-to-back road contests during the 2024 slate and play consecutive home games on three occasions. Times and television designations will be announced closer to the start of the 2024 season.

Indiana opens the season against FIU on August 31. It marks the third time in program history the two programs meet in a season opener and the first at Memorial Stadium. IU played FIU in the 2016 and 2018 season openers in Miami. The first meeting with Western Illinois follows on September 7 at home.

The first Big Ten Conference game to feature one of the four new members will take place at the historic Rose Bowl Stadium when Indiana travels to take on UCLA on September 14. It will be the first meeting between the two teams and IU’s first trip to the historic venue since the 1968 Rose Bowl team that finished 9-2 and won the Big Ten with a 6-1 record.

The final non-conference game arrives a week later versus Charlotte on September 21 before the B1G home opener against Maryland on September 28. After a trip to Northwestern on October 5, Indiana will have an idle week in front of back-to-back home games versus Nebraska (10/19) and Big Ten newcomer Washington (10/26). The matchup with the Huskies will be fourth meeting between the two programs and first since 2003.

The Old Brass Spittoon will be up for grabs in East Lansing, Michigan on November 2 when Indiana travels north to face Michigan State. Michigan heads to Bloomington for a November 9 contest and, after the second idle week, Indiana’s final road contest at Ohio State is slated for November 23.

A battle for the Old Oaken Bucket occupies its historic spot at the end of the regular season, as Purdue will head to Memorial Stadium for the 127th edition of the rivalry on November 30.

Big Ten Announces 2024 Football Complete Schedule

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa’s complete 2024 football schedule has been announced, featuring four Big Ten Conference home dates following three home nonconference contests to start the season. The entire conference schedule was released Thursday by the conference office.

The Hawkeyes’ 2024 schedule opens with home games in Kinnick Stadium against Illinois State (Aug. 31), Iowa State (Sept. 7) and Troy (Sept. 14).

The Big Ten portion of the schedule begins the following week on Sept. 21, in Minneapolis against Minnesota. The Hawkeyes will then have the first of two byes the weekend of Sept. 28.

Iowa resumes play Oct. 5, with its second straight road game to start league play at Ohio State in Columbus. It will mark the first time since the 1971 season that the Hawkeyes open Big Ten competition with consecutive road contests.

The Hawkeyes’ conference home opener comes against Washington on Oct. 12. The month of October concludes with games at Michigan State (Oct. 19) and hosting Northwestern (Oct. 26).

The month of November opens with the Hawkeyes entertaining Wisconsin (Oct. 2) before traveling to Los Angeles to face UCLA (Nov. 9). Iowa will have its second bye the weekend of Nov. 16, before rounding out the regular season at Maryland (Nov. 23) and hosting the annual Black Friday contest versus Nebraska (Nov. 29). Iowa will travel 5,388 miles during the month of November with trips to each coast in a three-week span.

The Big Ten Championship game is slated for Dec. 7 in Indianapolis.

Start times and network television designation for all contests will be announced at a later date.

MADISON, Wis. – The Big Ten Conference revealed the full 2024 football schedule on Thursday afternoon, setting the slate for a new era of Big Ten football. With Oregon, UCLA, USC and Washington joining the conference, Wisconsin will travel coast-to-coast in 2024 during Big Ten play.

The Badgers host three non-conference matchups, including national powerhouse Alabama, to begin the 2024 season. After the Crimson Tide come to Camp Randall, Wisconsin starts a Big Ten schedule that kicks off with a trip to Los Angeles to play USC. During the rest of the Big Ten season, UW will host Purdue, Penn State, Oregon and Minnesota.

Wisconsin will continue to renew its rivalries with Minnesota and Iowa every season as part of the Big Ten’s new Flex-Protect scheduling model.

With the Big Ten moving to a division-less structure in its 18-team format, the season will lead to the Big Ten Championship, held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Dec. 7.

2024 Football Schedule Released

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Nov. 2, 2023) – The 2024 Rutgers football schedule is complete, as the Big Ten announced the order of conference games on Thursday. Overall, the Scarlet Knights will host seven home games at SHI Stadium, including five in league play.

Three non-conference contests open the season, starting Aug. 31 versus Howard. Akron (Sept. 7) will also visit Piscataway before an open week and a trip to face Virginia Tech (Sept. 21). RU defeated the Hokies, 35-16, in the front end of the home-and-home this past September, last facing Akron in 1990 and Howard in 2016.

Big Ten action starts at home week five with new member Washington visiting to play its first road game in the league on Sept. 28. Wisconsin (Oct. 12), UCLA (Oct. 19), Minnesota (Nov. 9) and Illinois (Nov. 23) round out the home schedule.

The Scarlet Knights will head to Nebraska (Oct. 5), USC (Oct. 26), Maryland (Nov. 16) and Michigan State (Nov. 30) for Big Ten road matchups. A second open week takes place after the trip to USC.

Game times and television networks will be announced at a later date.
