On a night in Ann Arbor when the B1G Ten lead was on the line, it all came down to the last few seconds when Danny Wolf sank a pair of free throws that led to the Wolverine victory.

The game was played by the starters almost exclusively, as no Michigan starter played less than 26 minutes while on the Boilermaker side of things, Braden Smith went all 40 minutes, Trey Kaufman-Renn played 39 and Fletcher Loyer played 36 minutes.

For the majority of the night, Purdue dominated the game before Michigan made a 19 to nine run that tied the game up a little under six minutes to go.

Smith had big moments in the ending of the game as he nailed a three-pointer with less than 20 seconds to go but then missed another three-pointer at the basket as time ran out that would have won the game for Purdue.

A big factor in the game was the Michigan bench outscored the Boilermaker bench 21 to 0.

Danny Wolf led the Wolverine’s with 15 points on five of eleven shooting while collecting nine rebounds while Valdislav Goldin 12 points with five boards and three steals and team-mate Tre Donaldson also scored 12 points on four of eight field goals.

Wolf played 37 minutes, Goldin and Donaldson both 28 minutes apiece.

Roddy Gayle, Jr. came off the bench to score 12 points on five of ten field goals and seven rebounds.

Nimari Burnett scored nine points and Ruben Jones scored six points.

Braden Smith led Purdue with 24 points on 10 of 21 field goal attempts, four of nine from behind the arc, six rebounds and five assists.

Trey Kaufman-Renn tallied 22 points on eleven of nineteen from the field and seven rebounds before fouling out of the contest.

Fletcher Loyer added 15 on five of eleven shots and two of six from behind the arc.

C. J. Cox in 27 minutes added seven points while Caleb Furst scored five points, seven rebounds.

Michigan was 25 of 56 from the field for 44.6%, 7 of 23 from three-point area for 30.4% and 18 of 26 free throws for  69.2%. The Wolverines collected 34 rebounds but only registered seven assists.

Purdue shot 30 of 69 from the field for 43.5%, 7 of 20 from behind the arc for 35% and six of eight free throws for 75 percent.  The Boilermakers recorded 38 rebounds and assisted on only seven baskets.
