Excel H Sports Spotlight Looks at Outstanding Performances from the FCS
1). Indiana State never stopped playing in their game against Indiana.
Kimal Clark totaled seven tackles and five solo tackles, Braxton Sampson totaled seven total tackles while teammates Xavian Andrews, J T Anderson, Alex Rose and Nic Yatsko all totaled six total tackles with many solo tackles included.
2). Matt Kling hit a 21 yard field goal with time running out to clinch Sacred Heart a 24 to 21 victory over Long Island University.
3). Kekoa Visperas threw for three (3) scores and ran for three more as Tennessee Tech claimed victory Saturday. Teammates Quintell Quin rushed nine times for 122 yards and two scores while Maury Sullivan gained 78 yards.
4). Kenta Edwards had 255 yards and four touchdowns in Lafayette‘s 42-37 win over Georgetown.
5). Ethan Lose took the 2nd half kickoff back 90 yards to help lead the Butler Bulldogs past Hanover 16 to 7.
6). L J Phillips rushed for 301 yards and tallied twice in South Dakota‘s 24 to 17 win over Northern Colorado
7). In Montana‘s 24 to 23 win over North Dakota, Grizz quarterback Keali’i Ah Yat passed for 300 yards and rushed for two scores and threw a late touchdown pass to Brooks Davis.
8). Delaware State downed Bowie State 36 to 14 behind Kaiden Bennett’s three scores and 100 yard rushing game from James Jones
9). Texas San Antonio‘s Owen McCown went 29 of 35 for 238 yards and four scores while teammates Robert Henry Jr. caught 14 passes for 144 yards and two scores while Will Henderson III caught 11 passes and A J Wilson was on the receiving end of four passes for 99 yards.
10). Cornelious Brown threw for 329 yards and two scores while Victor Barbosa nailed three field goals in Alabama A & M’s 23 to 21 win over Tennessee State
11). Weber State‘s Jackson Gilkey totaled 332 yards and scored two touchdowns in their 42 to 41 win over McNeese State.
12). Saluki quarterback D J Williams ran for 128 yards on 14 carries and crossed the goal line three times in their 37 to 10 win over U T Martin.
13). Collin Hurst threw for 343 yards passing on 16 of 22 attempts with three scores in Presbyterian‘s 42 to 14 win over Erskine.
14). Ty Pennington threw for 366 passing yards and three scores while Seth Cromwell caught 12 of those passes for 87 yards and two scores for Northern Arizona while teammate Kolbe Katsis caught six passes for 135 yards and two scores in their come from behind narrow victory of Southern Utah. Southern Utah had big games from quarterback Bronson Barron as he completed 22 of 33 passes for 269 yards while Joshua Dye totaled 171 yards and four scores.
15). Luke Weaver threw for 240 yards on 26 of 42 passing attempts for 240 yards in Hawai’i‘s 27 to three win over Portland State
16). Tyriq Starks threw for 241 yards and two scores on 16 of 27 passing attempts while Andre Cooper caught four passes for 80 yards in Howard’s 38 to 10 win over Morehouse.
