Indiana turns back Minnesota

Indiana lost to Minnesota at home a little more than a month ago, (65-61).
At Banker’s Life Fieldhouse on Thursday night, Indiana reversed the outcome at the right time and won 66 to 58 to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2019 BiG Ten Women’s Conference championship were they will play the second seeded Iowa Hawkeyes.
Indiana started off fast and never seemed to lose their poise as they sprinted out to a 42 to 28 halftime lead.
Columbus North’s Ali Patberg led the now 20 and 11 Hoosiers with 20 points and seven rebounds and a tying team four assists.

Pittsburg’s Brenna Wise added 19 on seven of ten from the field for Indiana.

Louisville Jaelynn Penn added eleven on fifteen shots which she hit four field goals.
Indiana shot 24 of 52 from the field, six of fourteen from behind the arc and finished 12 of 17 from the charity line.
Penn led Indiana with eight boards while Portland, Oregon sophomore, Bindu Yeaney and Patberg adding seven boards a piece.
Lindsey Whalen’s Gophers suffered from poor shooting hitting only twenty field goals of 64 attempts and a miniscule one of fifteen three pointers.
The Gophers did hit all seventeen charity stripe attempts.
Minnesota was led by Destiny Pitts’ 25 points.
All first BiG Ten player Kenisha Bell scored 15 on three shots.
