Purdue Downs Nebraska in Tight Game

In a game that saw seven lead changes, Purdue outworked Nebraska inthe paint by claiming a 34 to 16 paint points advantage.
Ae’Rianna Harris tied the Purdue all-time career block record by swatting away three Husker shots and scored six straight points late in the fourth quarter to help Purdue secure a 75 to 71 victory.

In fact, all four lower seeds claimed victory today marking the first time in history of the tournament that has happened.
Five different Boilers scored in double digits led by Junior Dominique Oden’s 20. Harris and Sophomore Karissa McLaughlin scored 13 each while Martinsville, Indiana freshman Kayana Traylor tallied 12 and Lyndsey Whilby adding 11.

Tamara Farquhar led the rebound advantage by collecting fifteen total and seven offensive boards while Harris added 14 more to give the Boilermakers a 44 to 36 advantage.
Traylor led Purdue once again with five assists while Oden and Farquhar added four a piece.
Nebraska made a run at Purdue that included a 24 to 15 final stanza advantage that just came up short.
Taylor Kissinger led the Huskers with 15 followed by Sam Haiby”s 12 and DeKalb High School’s Leigha Brown added 11 in her first BiG Ten tournament game. Kate Cain added ten points.

Purdue moves on to play fourth seeded Rutgers.
