Butler Wins With Determined Play

The Bulldogs started out strong and played a solid game against Big Ten Purdue team that played without Matt Haarms.

The Dogs had several good scoring runs but their best was late in the first half with a nine point run that helped the Dogs post a 26 to 21 lead at the half.
Balance was the key for Butler as Bryce Golden led the way with 14 with support from Justin Tucker and Aaron Thompson with 12 a piece, Sean McDermott added 11 and Bryce Nze scoring eight.

Nze, pronounced like Inzee; led Butler with six boards.
Purdue was led by Trevion Williams 12 points and ten boards with support from Aaron Wheelers 11 and Eric Hunter, Jr’s ten points.

Butler shot 46.7% while Purdue shot 33% percent from the field for the game.
Purdue committed 14 turnovers to Butler’s 13,
Butler won the game in the paint as they outscored Purdue 26 to 16.
Purdue’s Jahaad Proctor had a off afternoon as he was two of thirteen shots from the field while Butler’s Kamar Baldwin did too as he was two for nine from the field.
Attendance was 18,538 bringing the total attendance for the Crossroads Classic to over 37,000 for the afternoon.
