Player of the Week

Kaila Charles, Maryland

G – Sr. – Glenn Dale, Md. – Riverdale Baptist – Major: Communications

• Posted season highs of 23 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and three steals in the win against No. 23 Michigan on Saturday

• Connected on 10 of 17 field goal attempts in the victory

• Her performance on Saturday places her ninth on Maryland’s all-time scoring list with 1,685 points, passing Christy Winters Scott

• espnW National Player of the Week

• Earns her third Big Ten Player of the Week award

Big Ten Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll

Ali Patberg, Jr., G, IND: Tallied a game-high 23 points, while shooting at a .778 clip from the field and marking her 12th career 20-point game in the Hoosiers’ win against Michigan State last Saturday

Kamaria McDaniel, Jr., G, PSU: Registered a game-high 31 points (on 11-of-25 shooting) while also shooting 8-of-11 from the charity stripe in last weekend’s loss against Minnesota

Arella Guirantes, Jr., G, RU: Posted a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds, plus a career-high eight assists, in the Big Ten road win against Wisconsin last Saturday

 

Freshman of the Week

Mackenzie Holmes, Indiana

F – Gorham, Maine – Gorham – Major: Social Work

• Posted 18 points in 20 minutes in the Big Ten win against Michigan State on Saturday

• Added six rebounds and one block to add a spark off the bench for the Hoosiers

• Connected on 7-of-8 of her shots from the field

• Collects her second Freshman of the Week award
