Game Two featured a former BiG Ten sensation in Minnesota Head Coach Lindsay Whalen and Penn State headed up by Carolyn Kieger, former Marquette Head Coach in her first year at the helm of the Nittany Lions.

A good strong effort by both teams equated into a Gopher lead of 22 to 19 over a game Penn State team that accounted for only one BiG Ten conference win.

Penn State would take the momentum and give the Gophers some uneasy moments in the second quarter as they claimed a 42 to 37 lead.

Whatever Whalen said to her Gophers resonated as they would hit eleven field goals in the third quarter out of sixteen floor shots (68.8%) and claim their way to a 67 to 55 lead.
