Terrapins Control Glass and Game

The opening game of Day Three at the BiG Ten’s Women Basketball Conference Championships presented by SoHi saw top seeded Maryland control the glass, including 28 offensive rebounds out of the teams 30 and down a game Purdue team.
Maryland’s mind set was to power the ball down the floor and attack the basket and then force a fast tempo which wore out Purdue’s guards.

Maryland would fight for every rebound and bring the ball inside the paint.
For Purdue’s cause they did hang in there and continue to make it a game within reach.
Dominique Oden, the Atlanta, Georgia native closed out her career with 15 points on five of eleven shooting from the floor, six boards, eight assists and four steals.

Junior Karissa McLaughline tied for Purdue game honors with 15 points, despite hitting only three of twelve behind the arc. McLaughlin also assisted six times with two steals.

Fatou Diagne added 11 while Indianapolis, Indiana senior Ae’Rianna Harris closed out her career with 10 points and eight rebounds.
For the winning Terps, Taylor Mikesell led the way with 22, including six of fourteen behind the arc. Also, scoring were Stephanie Jones with 14, freshman Ashley Owusu with 15 and Shakira Austin with 12.
