Wolverines Take On Mantel of Cinderella

The third game of Friday’s Quarterfinals at Banker’s Life Field House saw Cinderella appear, as Kim Barnes Arico’s Michigan Wolverines as they downed, second seeded Northwestern and place them in Saturday night’s Semi-Finals at the 2020 BiG Ten Women’s Conference Championship presented by SoFi against Ohio State.

Michigan and Northwestern turned out to be the most exciting game up to this point, as they battled all night for the right to advance.

Northwestern took the early first quarter lead of 13 to 12 and then both teams continued on going after one another as they scored 19 points a piece in the second quarter to end the half at 32 to 31 Northwestern.

Michigan had a big third quarter and gained the lead 49 to 44.
Michigan won the decisive fourth quarter by three points and advancing.
Naz Hillmon had another big night for Michigan by scoring 20 points and five boards and four assists.
Hailey Brown had another big night as well as, she poured in 19 points with solid support from Zionsville, Indiana Freshman Maddie Nolan who scored 13 with eight timely rebounds.

Akienreh Johnson led the Wolverine cause with seven assists and added five steals.
Carmel, Indiana Sophomore Amy Dilk added seven points and six assists.

Veronica Burton led the Wildcats with 15 points and seven assists along with three steals while Jordan Hamilton added 14 points.
