Michigan State and Minnesota Earn Weekly Men’s Basketball Honors
Spartans’ Cassius Winston collects fifth Player of Week honor this season;
Gophers’ Daniel Oturu claims second Freshman of the Week award this season

Cassius Winston, Michigan State

- Averaged 27.5 points, 8.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds while shooting 50.0 percent from the floor in a pair of wins for the Spartans, who stand alone in first place in the Big Ten
- In Michigan State’s 77-70 victory at #7/7 Michigan, posted a game-high 27 points and handed out eight assists while converting 7-of-13 from the floor and 13-of-14 from the foul line
- Recorded a game-high 28 points along with eight assists, five rebounds and three 3-pointers in a 71-60 win over Rutgers
- Has scored at least 20 points in 15 games this season, including 12 of the last 17 games
- Leads the Big Ten assists with 7.4 per game and ranks third in points per game (19.2 ppg)
- Earns the fifth Big Ten Player of the Week honor of his career and this season
- First Spartan to earn five Big Ten Player of the Week honors in a season
- Joins Ohio State’s Evan Turner (seven in 2009-10), Purdue’s Caleb Swanigan (six in 2016-17) and Purdue’s Glenn Robinson (five in 1993-94) as the only individuals to earn five or more Player of the Week honors in a single season

- Averaged 19.0 points and 10.0 rebounds while shooting 55.6 percent in a pair of Gophers’ games last week
- Posted a double-double against #7/7 Michigan with 18 points and a career-high tying 12 rebounds
- Tied his career-high with 20 points and added eight rebounds against Rutgers, while shooting 7-of-10 from the floor
- Leads Big Ten freshmen in rebounding with 7.3 per game and stands second among freshmen in blocked shots with 1.5 per game
- Earns his second Freshman of the Week honor of the season

• Scored a game-high 29 points (on 13-of-23 shooting) while grabbing eight rebounds and blocking three shots for the No. 8/9 Terrapins in a win over Minnesota on Feb. 21
• Tallied 17 points in the final 15:36 of the game, including the game-tying layup with six seconds left and the game-winning layup with 0.9 seconds to play
• Tied her career highs for field goals made and blocks
• Received Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2017-18
• Earns her second Big Ten Player of the Week award

Freshman of the Week
Naz Hillmon, Michigan
F – Cleveland, Ohio – Gilmour Academy – Major: Undeclared
• Averaged 24.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.5 steals per game with a .731 field goal percentage and a double-double last week as Michigan split Big Ten matchups with Rutgers (win) and Michigan State (loss)
• Registered her seventh double-double of the season Sunday at MSU with a career-high 27 points (on 11-of-13 shooting), 11 rebounds and a career-best six steals
• Contributed 21 points and seven rebounds in a home win over Rutgers on Feb. 21
• Collects her sixth Freshman of the Week award
