Player of the Week

Anthony Cowan Jr., Maryland

G – Sr. – 6-0 – Bowie, Md. – St. John’s College High School – Major: Masters of Professional Studies in Technology Entrepreneurship

• Scored a career-high 31 points along with six assists and six rebounds in a win versus No. 18 Iowa in College Park
• The first Terp to record such a stat line since Cousy Award winner Greivis Vasquez in 2010
• Posted 19 of his points in the second half to secure Maryland’s second top-25 win of the season
• Led Maryland to its 12th home win of the season to remain undefeated at the Xfinity Center, where the Terps are winning by an average margin of 16.2 points
• Earns his second Player of the Week accolade this season and of his career

Freshman of the Week

Franz Wagner, Michigan

G – 6-9 – Berlin, Germany – Alba Berlin – Major: Undecided

• Averaged 18 points, seven rebounds, 1.5 assists and one block in two Michigan wins
• Shot 63.2 percent from the field (12-for-19) and 62.5 percent on 3-pointers (5-for-8), making a career-best four versus Rutgers at Madison Square Garden during Big Ten Super Saturday
• Posted a career-best 16 points at Nebraska, only to pass that with his first career 20-point game against Rutgers (20)
• Stepped into the starting lineup versus the Scarlet Knights and set new career bests in six categories: points (20), field goals (7), field goal attempts (13), three-point field goals (4), three-point field goal attempts (7) and minutes (38)
• Earns his first Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor
