Minnesota and Northwestern Earn Big Ten Weekly Women’s Basketball Awards

Golden Gophers’ Jasmine Powell and Wildcats’ Lindsey Pulliam are this week’s honorees

 

Player of the Week

Lindsey Pulliam, Northwestern

G – Jr. – Silver Spring, Md. – Our Lady of Good Counsel – Major: Communications

• Also named espnW National Player of the Week on Monday

• Averaged 27.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game with a .622 field-goal percentage and .667 three-point percentage last week as the nationally-ranked Wildcats earned a pair of Big Ten wins

• Scored 28 points on career-high 13-of-20 shooting in a Feb. 22 win at Wisconsin, and added 27 points on 10-of-17 shooting in NU’s victory over Rutgers on Feb. 19

• A 2018-19 Academic All-Big Ten selection

• Earns her first Big Ten Player of the Week award

Big Ten Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll

Ali Patberg, Jr., G, IND: Scored a season-high 29 points, including 25 in the first half, and made 12-of-22 shots in Indiana’s win at Minnesota on Feb. 22

Naz Hillmon, So., F, MICH: Averaged 20.5 ppg. and 11.5 rpg. with two double-doubles and a .696 field-goal percentage in the Wolverines’ two conference victories last week

Arella Guirantes, Jr., G, RU: Registered 27.5 ppg. and 4.5 rpg. with a .559 field-goal percentage in two Big Ten games last week, including a career-high 36 points and the game-winning shot in a Feb. 22 win over Ohio State

Jasmine Powell, Minnesota

G – Detroit, Mich. – Detroit Country Day – Intended Major: Journalism

• Averaged 18.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game in Minnesota’s two conference games last week

• Scored a team-high 21 points and tied her career high by going 3-of-5 from three-point range in the Golden Gophers’ matchup against No. 24 Indiana on Feb. 22

• Added 15 points and four rebounds in Minnesota’s game at Michigan State on Feb. 17

• Collects her second Freshman of the Week award
