PURDUE’S 18-GAME BIG TEN SLATE UNVEILED
Boilermakers will face nine league opponents at Mackey Arena
West Lafayette, Ind. – The final pieces of the 2021-22 Purdue women’s basketball season are finally in place as the Big Ten Conference unveiled its schedule for the upcoming campaign.
Purdue’s 29-game slate for the 2021-22 season features 16 games at Mackey Arena, including nine conference foes. Season tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling the Hayes Family Ticket Office at 764.494.3194 or by clicking here.
The conference returns to 18 games for 2021-22, as the Boilermakers will square off with Indiana, Illinois, Northwestern, Rutgers and Wisconsin in home-and-away tilts. Purdue’s single-play opponents will be on the road at Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State and Nebraska, with Iowa, Minnesota, Ohio State and Penn State making trips to Mackey Arena
Purdue will open the Big Ten season in the midst of its non-conference slate, starting Dec. 5 at home against Ohio State, four days after the home Big Ten/ACC Challenge battle against Georgia Tech.
Following a road trip to reigning three-time regular-season champion Maryland on Dec. 8, the Boilermakers will be off for league duty until Dec. 30 for an away matchup at Wisconsin.
January will feature eight contests, evenly split between Mackey Arena and the road. The Boilermakers will host Rutgers (Jan. 2), Iowa (Jan. 13), Indiana (Jan. 16) and Minnesota (Jan. 27), while traveling to Michigan State (Jan. 9), Illinois (Jan. 20), Michigan (Jan. 24) and Nebraska (Jan. 30).
Purdue will open February bouncing between home and the road with a home tilt against Northwestern on Feb. 3, the Barn Burner Trophy Game at Assembly Hall against Indiana on Feb. 6,
The Boilermaker’s penultimate game will be a road contest at Northwestern on Feb. 24, before a Feb. 27 matchup at Mackey Arena against Wisconsin to conclude the 2021-22 regular season.
The 29th Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament will return to Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis March 2-6.
Women’s Basketball Announces 2021-22 Schedule
IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Big Ten Conference announced the University of Iowa women’s basketball 2021-22 schedule on Wednesday. The Conference and Big Ten Network will release times and TV designations at a later date.
The Hawkeyes host 15 home games and one exhibition contest in Carver-Hawkeye Arena this season, including nine contests against Big Ten teams. Iowa was one of seven Big Ten programs to make the NCAA Tournament last season, including Sweet 16 appearances from the Hawkeyes, Indiana, Maryland, and Michigan. Central Florida and in-state foe, Iowa State, also made NCAA appearances.
Iowa finished the 2020-21 season 20-10, overall, and advanced to the Sweet 16 at the NCAA Tournament. The Hawkeyes tallied an 11-8 Big Ten record. They return nine letterwinners, including all five starters — Caitlin Clark, Monika Czinano, Gabbie Marshall, Kate Martin, and McKenna Warnock.
Clark was named National Co-Freshman of the Year, consensus All-American, Dawn Staley Award winner, Big Ten Freshman of the Year, unanimous First Team All-Big Ten. She won her third gold medal with USA Basketball at the 2021 FIBA U119 World Cup and was named the tournament MVP. Czinano also earned first team All-Big Ten honors. The pair led the nation in seven statistical categories, including Czinano ranking first in field-goal percentage (66.8) and Clark leading in points per game (26.6) and total assists (214).

Women’s Basketball Announces 2021-22 Schedule
The Ohio State women’s basketball program announced its 2021-22 schedule on Wednesday.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s basketball program, along with the Big Ten Conference announced its 2021-22 schedule on Wednesday. The non-conference schedule features seven home games, the Big Ten/ACC Challenge and a trip to California. The Big Ten slate features nine games inside the Schottenstein Center. The Buckeyes open the 2021-22 season with five-consecutive home games, first hosting Bucknell on Wednesday, Nov. 10. Ohio State goes on to host Norfolk State (Nov. 14), Bowling Green (Nov. 17), Bellarmine (Nov. 23) and Cincinnati (Nov. 27) before going on the road for the first time. Ohio State will play the Cincinnati game at the Covelli Center.

The Buckeyes open conference play following the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, traveling to Purdue on Sunday, Dec. 5. Ohio State returns to the Schottenstein Center to host Mount St. Mary’s (Dec. 7) before hosting Indiana in the Big Ten home opener on Dec. 12. The Buckeyes host Alabama State (Dec. 15) before concluding the non-conference schedule at UCLA (Dec. 19) and San Diego State (Dec. 21). Ohio State wraps up 2021 at Michigan for a New Year’s Eve game.
The Buckeyes open 2022 with back-to-back home games against Penn State (Jan. 3) and Illinois (Jan. 6). OSU alternates home and away games for the remainder of January, hosting Michigan State (Jan. 12), Maryland (Jan. 20) and Michigan (Jan. 27), while traveling to Northwestern (Jan. 9), nnesota (Jan. 15), Rutgers (Jan. 23) and Iowa (Jan. 31).
Ohio State also opens February with back-to-back games at the Schottenstein Center, hosting Rutgers (Feb. 7) and Nebraska (Feb. 10). The Buckeyes then travel to Illinois (Feb. 14) and Maryland (Feb. 17). The Illinois game marks the 40th anniversary of the first Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament Championship game between Ohio State and Illinois on Feb. 14, 1982. OSU wraps up the regular season at home against Wisconsin (Feb. 20) and on the road against Michigan State (Feb. 27).
The 29th Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament will take place Wednesday, March 2, 2022 through Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Rutgers Women’s Basketball Unveils 2021-22 Schedule
Scarlet Knights open the season at home against St. Peter’s on Nov. 9
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women’s basketball has released its 2021-22 non-conference and Big Ten schedule. Times and television designations will be announced in the coming weeks.
The Scarlet Knights begin the campaign at home against St. Peter’s on Tuesday, Nov. 9 inside the RAC, where Rutgers is 49-8 over the past four seasons for an .860 winning percentage. Hall of Fame head coach C. Vivian Stringer has lined up 12 non-conference games before the 18-game Big Ten slate.
RU plays its first five contests at home in November against St. Peter’s (Tues., Nov. 9), South Alabama (Fri., Nov. 12), Fairfield (Sun., Nov. 14), Stony Brook (Tues., Nov. 16), and Harvard (Fri., Nov. 19).
Rutgers will then hit the road for the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands for three games against DePaul (Thurs., Nov. 25), Vanderbilt (Fri., Nov. 26), and Arizona (Sat., Nov. 27). The Scarlet Knights return stateside for a Wed., Dec. 1 trip to Pittsburgh for the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
Non-conference action wraps up in December with three more home games against Delaware State on Sunday the 12th, Central Connecticut State on Tuesday the 14th, and Wagner on Saturday the 18th.
The Big Ten announced Rutgers’ conference opponents in June and today declared the dates live on Big Ten Network. Rutgers tips off conference play at the RAC against defending Big Ten Tournament champion and NCAA Sweet 16 participant Maryland on Sun., Dec. 5. Additional Big Ten home games include Indiana (Thurs., Dec. 30), Minnesota (Thurs., Jan. 6), Wisconsin (Sun., Jan. 16), Ohio State (Sun., Jan. 23), Michigan State (Sun., Jan. 30), Penn State (Sun., Feb. 13), Purdue (Sun., Feb. 20), and Iowa (Thurs., Jan. 24).
Rutgers’ nine B1G road games are at Penn State (Thurs., Dec. 9), Purdue (Sun., Jan. 2), Michigan (Sun., Jan. 9), Nebraska (Thurs., Jan. 20), Maryland (Thurs., Jan. 27), Ohio State (Mon., Feb. 7), Northwestern (Thurs., Feb. 10), Minnesota (Thurs., Feb. 17), and the regular season finale at Illinois on Sun., Feb. 27.

The Scarlet Knights, who finished third in the Big Ten in two of the last three seasons, will aim to qualify for its third consecutive NCAA Tournament for the first time since Coach Stringer’s squad went dancing in 10 consecutive seasons from 2003 through 2012. March Madness 2022 begins with first round games on Fri. and Sat., March 18 and 19 at the homes of the top-16 seeds.

Big Ten Releases 2021-22 Illini Women’s Basketball Schedule

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Big Ten announced the full 2021-22 conference basketball schedule on Wednesday (Sept. 8), completing the Fighting Illini women’s basketball slate for the upcoming season.
Illini head coach Nancy Fahey had previously released the program’s non-conference schedule on Sept. 3, and Big Ten home and road matchups were announced on June 17.
Schedule Notes
- The Illini will play 14 games against 12 teams that saw postseason action during the 2020-21 season, including two matchups vs. Indiana which is coming off of an NCAA Elite 8 appearance. The Orange and Blue will welcome six 2020 NCAA Tournament teams to State Farm Center this season.
- The 2020-21 nonconference slate features eight home contests, including four weekend matchups. The Illini open Tuesday, November 9, hosting North Carolina Central.
- The Illini will spend the Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 26-27, at the Daytona Beach Invitational in Daytona, Fla., where they will face off against Dayton and Middle Tennessee on Friday and Saturday, respectively. The Flyers are coming off an Atlantic 10 regular-season championship and 2021 WNIT berth, while the Blue Raiders competed in the 2021 NCAA Tournament as C-USA tournament champions.
- The 2021 ACC/B1G Challenge will pit Illinois against Florida State on Dec. 2 at State Farm Center. The Seminoles, coming off of their eighth-consecutive NCAA tournament appearance, return all five starters for 2021-22 and are ranked No. 17 in ESPN’s Way-To-Early Top 25.
- The Illini also host the Braggin’ Rights game vs. Missouri on Wednesday, Dec. 22 at State Farm Center to close out the non-conference schedule. Illinois won the most recent meeting between the rivals, 58-51, in December 2019. The Tigers are coming off of a WNIT bid to close out their 2020-21 season.
- Illinois will return to an 18-game conference schedule after the Big Ten temporarily expanded the league slate to 20 games during the 2019-20 season (Illinois played 16 with two games canceled due to COVID-19 protocols). It is the third time in the last four seasons that the B1G will play an 18-game women’s basketball schedule, and the 20th time overall since 1982-83.
- In this 18-game conference format, Illinois will face five schools both home and away (Indiana, Northwestern, Ohio State, Purdue, Wisconsin) and play the eight remaining schools once. Of the single-play opponents, the Illini will play four at home (Maryland, Michigan, Nebraska and Rutgers) and four on the road (Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota and Penn State.
- UI opens Big Ten play on Thursday, Dec. 9, visiting Michigan State. The matchup with the Spartans comes with three non-conference games remaining on the schedule.
- Illinois hosts its first Big Ten opponent on Thursday, Dec. 30, welcoming back-to-back defending champion Maryland to State Farm Center.
- The Fighting Illini host the Ohio State Buckeyes on Monday, Feb. 14. The game will mark the 40th anniversary of the first Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament Championship game played between the Illini and the Buckeyes on Feb. 14, 1982.
- Illinois’ regular season finale is Feb. 27 in a home matchup vs. Rutgers.
- The Big Ten Tournament is scheduled for March 2-6 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind.
