On a day where the Tom Allen led Hoosiers were up against it, the Hoosiers turned in a gritty, tough, in your face performance to post a shout out 41-0 of Rutgers and keep their bowl eligibility dreams alive.
The Hoosiers defense paced the way early with a thundering clamp down on sophomore quarterback Giovanni Rescigno, Gus Edwards and the Scarlet Knights offense.
The defense led by Senior Greg Gooch, Senior Chris Covington, Senior Tegray Scales, Senior Tony Fields and Senior Chase Dutra(former Goal Post Football Cover photo player) kept the Knights offense to long second and third downs and forced a early turnover that was quickly turned into a score.

The Hoosier offense was off and running as Plano, Texas, fifth year Senior quarterback Richard Lagow was quite effective through the air with key targets being 6’5, Senior Ian Thomas, Junior Luke Timian, Junior Simmie Cobbs, Jr. and DeAngelo Philyor, a freshman.

But no bigger catch was made than the hand on ball, on helmet catch Senior/Junior eligible Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger graduate Ryan Watercutter (Former Goal Post Football Cover Photo player) made.

The ground game was just as potent as both true freshman, Pickerington, Ohio’s Morgan Ellison (nearly 200 yards) and Lyndhurst, Ohio (St. Edward) Sophomore/Freshman eligible Cole Gest (over 100 yards) racked up nearly 300 yards rushing for the afternoon.

With 2:31 to go in the third quarter and the Hoosiers up 27-0 the rains came, and the lightning with it which halted the Senior Day festivities day game in its tracks for over 1 hour and 40 minutes.

After the long delay the Hoosiers came back on the field and drove the ball on the ground to its climax.
At one point Indiana ran 24 straight running plays to pile up two more scores.
Up next, the Old Oaken Bucket game as both Indiana and Purdue come into the contest with five over-all victories trying to capture that sixth win and become bowl eligible.
On a day where both the Hoosiers and the Boilermakers needed wins they both did so, Indiana 41-0 over Rutgers and Purdue winning in Iowa City over the favored Hawkeyes 24-16.
