Marquette downs Colorado 81 to 77

Marquette advances in the NCAA tournament with a solid performance against the Colorado Buffaloes in the first game an of the NCAA Second round at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis 81 to 77

While Tyler Kolek had been out of action for a good portion of the calendar year (2024) the Warriors jelled and got better which has allowed them to advance.

David Joplin, the Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Junior had a solid game while scoring 14 points, and accounting for two steals in his 36 minutes of floor time.

Kam Jones, Junior, Memphis, Tennesse played a solid game from his guard position with 18 points and over-all solid floor management.

The Warriors were led by Kolek with 21 and eleven assists and five boards.

Chase Ross was instrumental in the win as he scored 12 points, five boards and two steals to go along with two blocks.

Colorado’s K J Simpson, West Hils, California, Junior played the point with full command as he scored 20 points with seven assists and only two turnovers in over 39 minutes of floor time.

Tristan DaSilva added 17 points, while Eddie Lampkin would score 13 points and collect a team leading seven boards.

Complimenting the Buffs was Gilbert, Arizona freshman Cody Williams with 12 points.

Other Warriors to crack double digits was Oso Ighodiro with ten points.
