COLUMBUS, Ohio – An Ohio State football program record 40 student-athletes from the team were named Academic All-Big Ten Conference today as the conference announced its honorees in the fall sports of cross country, field hockey, football, soccer and volleyball.

There were 25 Buckeyes who earned the academic honor for at least a second time. Three student-athletes – P Drue Chrisman, OG Gavin Cupp and TE Luke Farrell – were honored for a fourth time while five others – LB Tuf Borland, TE Jake Hausmann, LS Bradley Robinson, TE Mitch Rossi and LB Pete Werner – are three-time honorees.

To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, students must be on a varsity team, as verified by being on the official squad list as of November 1 for fall sports, who have been enrolled fulltime at the institution for a minimum of 12 months and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. Three years ago, in a move to honor more deserving student-athletes, the league dropped the criteria that one had to have earned a varsity letter to qualify for the honor.
