LINCOLN, Neb. – It was a tough night for No. 15 Ohio State as Nebraska controlled the pace from the tip and the Buckeyes couldn’t get a big shot to fall in a 63-55 setback in Lincoln.

The loss was the first of the year for the Buckeyes who are now 7-1 overall and 3-1 in the conference.

Despite shooting a season-low 27.2 percent, a bright spot was two-time All-Big Ten forward Dorka Juhasz, who returned to the lineup for the first time in over a month. She posted her fourth double-double of the year with 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Fellow forward Aaliyah Patty also scored 13 points, grabbed five rebounds and had two blocks. Guards Madison Greene and Jacy Sheldon each finished with 11 points.

Nebraska was led inside by Kate Cain who had 22 points, 12 rebounds and nine blocks. The Cornhuskers worked the ball through her in the post and combined with the Buckeyes tough shooting night, they were able to keep the game at their pace.

Nebraska ran-off eight consecutive points early in the second quarter to open a 22-14 lead. They would extend the lead and take a 30-21 advantage into halftime. That was the lowest scoring and shooting half of the season for the Buckeyes.

Ohio State crept within three early in the third but again Nebraska was able push the lead all the way out to 14 points with 6:50 to play in the game. A Gabby Hutcherson three sparked a 16-5 run that saw the Buckeyes close the gap to just 57-54 with 1:24 left. But the story of the night was Ohio State not making the big shot and Nebraska was able to close out game from the line.

The Buckeyes finally return home next week to host rival Michigan on Thursday, Jan. 21. Tip-off was changed to 3 p.m. and the game will be on BTN.
