Buckeyes Keep Tourney Hopes Alive 68 to 58

Ohio State keeps their tournament hopes alive with yet another win over a higher seeded team. This time it was Tom Izzo’s Michigan State Spartans.

The Spartans couldn’t keep the intensity that the Buckeyes exhibited throughout the game and though the score margin was only ten points, the Buckeyes led by double digits throughout the second half.

Ohio State shot 44.6% percent for the game on 25 of 56 shots from the field also canning eight of twelve shots from the behind the arc and team had fifteen assists for the game.

Michigan State was led by Joey Hauser’s 15 points, that included a perfect eight of eight from the charity stripe. Hauser also claimed six boards.

A trio of Spartans scored ten points that included Tyson Walker, Jaden Akins and A J Hoggard.

The Spartans shot 38.2 from the field on 21 of 55 shots but had a team assist number that counted as nine.

Bryce Thornton led the Buckeyes with 21 points and six assists, Roddy Gayle added fifteen points on five of eight shots and Justice Sueing added 14 on five of fifteen shots while Felix Oxpara led Ohio State with eight boards and five blocks.

Ohio State advances to the semi-finals against the top seeded Purdue Boilermakers at 1 p.m.
