Tennessee Vols Smother Longwood in First Round in Indianapolis

The Tennessee Vols, from the Southeastern Conference, made a statement for the rest of the NCAA field with their collective dismantling of their Big South counterpart, Longwood University.

From the tip-off to the finish the Vols shot the lights out at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

In fact, the Vols shot 60 percent for the game from two points and 58.3 from behind the arc, compared to Longwood’s 38.5% and 31.8% from behind the arc.

Longwood, is a Big South school, where many new coaches took over programs and most of the programs are filled with younger players. In fact, Longwood only has three seniors on the roster.

Leading the way for the talented Vols were, Junior, Santiago Vescovi with 18 followed by Junior, Josiah Jordan-James 17, graduate student/athlete John Fulkerson with 15, top freshman Kennedy Chandler with 13 and fellow freshman Zakai Ziegler’ 10.

Longwood was led by Sophomore Justin Hill 13, Senior DeShaun Wade 10 and Senior Isaiah Wilkins nine.
