TYREKE KEY NAMED MVC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

 SAINT LOUIS — The Missouri Valley Conference announced Monday afternoon that Indiana State men’s basketball senior Tyreke Key has been named Valley Player of the Week for his performance against Evansville Feb. 14.

Key put together another dominant performance, scoring 29 points while shooting 70.7 percent (12-of-17) from the floor and adding five rebounds and two steals in Indiana State’s 76-70 victory over Evansville Feb. 14. The Celina, Tenn. native continues his climb up the Valley scoring list, sitting at No. 2 in the league in points per game with 16.6 ppg. Key is leading the league in minutes played (34.0), and is also fourth in the MVC in free throw percentage (83.5), and has snuck onto the rebounding list at No. 15 (5.3).

The award is the first weekly award for the Sycamores on the season.

Indiana State will celebrate the 2020-21 Senior Night Wednesday in a 5 p.m. contest against Evansville in Hulman Center.
