Spartans Inside Game Wears Down Boilers

At the half of Game number one, eighth seeded Michigan State leads 38 to 34 over ninth seeded Purdue.

Nia Clouden leads the balanced Spartans with 11 points on three of six from the field, and a perfect four of four from the charity stripe while Matilda Ekh has seven points and both Alisia Smith and Taiyier Parks have six apiece.

The Boilers are led by Madison Layden’s 12 and Abbey Ellis’ 10.

Purdue narrows the margin to one as they outscore State 18 to 15 in the period.

The second half was a myriad of runs by both teams.

The deciding factor was the rebounding of Michigan State who collected 34 total rebounds

Michigan State defeats Purdue 73 to 69.

The Spartans were led by Nia Cloudon who went for 23 while Alisia Smith tallied 15, Taiyier Parks added 12 and nine rebounds. Matilda Ekh added 10, Tamara Farquhar nine and DeeDee Hagemann led the Spartans with seven assists.

Purdue was led by Abbey Ellis’ 17 and Madison Layden’s 17.
